The Rose Thompson Resource Centre

We plan to establish a state-of-the-art cancer resource centre that provides holistic care for patients and carers. Our focus on treating the person, not just the condition, is a crucial aspect of healthcare that is often overlooked.

By providing a Support Group Network (SGN), access to information specialists and advocates, wellness planning, and subsidised access to complementary therapies, we can address the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of patients and carers.

This comprehensive approach can indeed enhance a patient’s capacity to overcome the side effects of treatments and support their ability to undergo further therapies. Moreover, the provision of support for carers is equally important, as they play a critical role in the patient’s journey. By maintaining their health and well-being, they can provide better care to those affected by cancer, as well as to themselves.

The resource centre will also serve as a hub for various activities, including support groups, information resources, well-being activities, and events.

Overall, our plan embodies the essence of holistic care - understanding that each patient is more than just their condition and requires support that addresses all aspects of their well-being.
